Got Books?
Do you have books or CDs you no longer need or want? We work with several non-profits in the Genesee County area. We donate books to Salvation Army, St. Vincent De Paul, Volunteers of America, Goodwill and more. This is a great option for those who are moving, clearing out the contents of an estate, closing a store, or just have books or media that you no longer want or need.
The benefit to donating is that we will come to you and pick up the books for free as long as it is five boxes or more. If you have less than five boxes, we may still be able to arrange something during a time where we will be in your area. No amount of books is too large.

How does it work?
To be clear, we are a for profit business. We will go through the inventory of items donated to see if any of it can be resold. Upwards of 80% of the items donated cannot be resold. Those items that still have some value but don't fit our business model will be donated to local non-profit organizations. The convenience of at your door pick ups is a very compelling reason why so many people choose 810 Media as their book donation center.
What about condition?
Books must be in reasonably good condition. Unfortunately, we can't take books with loose spines, mold or mildew, books with missing pages, and books that show signs of water damage.
Who do you donate to?
Upwards of 80% of the books donated to us go directly back to local non-profit organizations. Currently we donate to Salvation Army, St. Vincent De Paul, Volunteers of America, and Goodwill. If we get a large amount of books of a specific genre, for example children's books, we will reach out to schools and day cares to see if they can use them.
Will I get a tax deductible receipt?
No. 810 Media is a for-profit business and is unable to issue a tax deductible receipt.
Can I donate other things besides books and media?
Yes! We accept a lot of things besides books and media. A few of the things we look for include used electronics, game systems, toys, puzzles, calculators, water filters, and more. If you have something you're interested in donating, contact us and we will let you know if it's something we can accept.
